Leaves Are Falling And We Are Falling For Pumpkin Beer

  It’s autumn. Leaves are turning every shade of red, orange, and yellow before finally falling down to be raked into great piles. It’s getting colder and here at Vinnin Liquors, we are excited about all the seasonal fall drinks. In particular, we’ve been enjoying some pumpkin beer.  Pumpkin beer is made with pumpkin mixed directly into the mash. Spices can be added to evoke the flavor of pumpkin pie or a pumpkin spice latte.  Pumpkins are native to the New World, and pumpkin beer is a uniquely American flavor. The Pilgrims first made ale with pumpkin in it, and when Buffalo Bill’s Brewery revitalized the flavor in the 1980s, they based their brew on a recipe written by George Washington himself.  Today, there are several pumpkin beers on the market, including pale ales, wheats, porters, and stouts.
